Dance Floor Storage-Keep It Out Of The Sun
Rolling and properly storing a vinyl dance floor is a lot of work. That’s why it is tempting to leave it in place for long periods of time (especially in schools where the dance space is unused during the summer).
If your dance studio or auditorium has windows or skylights and gets natural sun during the day, then you run the risk of shortening the life of your floor by leaving it exposed to the uv radiation that comes from sunlight exposure.
UV rays break down the structure of the vinyl, making it brittle and less able to stand the force that comes from dancers’ feet.
Go ahead and take the time to roll it up and store it properly. Extended life will make that worth your trouble.
