Dance for Life

Our newest dance floor tape customer is on a mission to transform the lives of inner city kids through the magic of dance.  National Dance Institute has partnered with 31 schools in the New York City metro area to provide a dance curriculum for children in grades K-6 that is part of the normal school day.  They also offer workshops for teachers so the program can be expanded to even more schools.  They have witnessed the benefits these children reap in other areas of their lives due to the influence of the dancing experience.  Truly gifted children are offered scholarships to pursue more intensive training outside of normal school hours.

We here at DanceFloorTape.com think it is wonderful to have children exposed to the arts at such a young age.  The arts are just as important as “the three Rs”.  It is imperative to feed the soul as well as the mind.  With all the mind-numbing video games and television shows that keep children firmly planted on their posterior, it is good to see there is another alternative besides gym class to get them up and moving!  Dance can also offer a brief respite from the stresses and pressures experienced by these low-income children.

Just like our dance floor tape helps to stabilize the floor the children dance on, National Dance Institute strives to provide a firm foundation for their dance of life.  We would like to give you a multi-colored 21-Roll Salute!!
